Clear Aligners (Invisible Braces)
Straighten your teeth with clear, removable trays instead of metal braces. Planned by our MDS orthodontist, with an honest answer on whether aligners can do your case.
Most people arrive having already decided they want aligners, usually because of how braces would look at work. For many cases that is a perfectly good choice. But some bites can only be corrected properly with braces, and no honest clinic should sell you the invisible option for a case that needs the other one. Dr. Swaroop, our consultant orthodontist, decides that from your scan, not from a price list.
Dr. Shabnam, MDS | Endodontist & Smile Designer
Clear aligners are thin, transparent, removable trays that move your teeth a fraction of a millimetre at a time. You wear each tray for one to two weeks, then move to the next one in the series. The whole sequence is planned digitally at the start, so you can see the projected end result before you begin. Because they come out for meals and brushing, daily life carries on largely unchanged, which is why they are popular with people working around Bellandur and the Outer Ring Road.
They are also oversold. Here is the honest version of what they do, what they cost, and when they are the wrong choice.
What clear aligners can and cannot fix
Aligners work well for mild to moderate crowding, spacing and gaps, mildly rotated teeth, teeth that have shifted back after old braces, and mild bite issues.
Braces are usually the better answer for severe crowding, large gaps, teeth that need rotating a long way, cases that need extractions, and significant bite corrections.
A good orthodontist will tell you plainly which group your case falls into. If both options genuinely work for your teeth, the choice comes back to you, and we will not push. Our guide on clear aligners vs braces lays the comparison out in full, including the cost difference.
Who plans your treatment
Alignment cases at The Tooth Corner are planned by Dr. Swaroop D, our consultant orthodontist, who holds an MDS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. That matters more than the brand of tray you end up wearing. An aligner series is only as good as the plan behind it, and planning bite movement is a specialist skill, not something to be decided from a photograph or a price list.
Dr. Shabnam, MDS Endodontist and Smile Designer, reviews cases where alignment forms part of a wider smile makeover, so the final look is planned alongside the movement.
How the treatment actually runs
Your first visit is an assessment. We examine your teeth, gums and bite, take scans and X-rays, and map what has to move. From that you get a straight answer on whether aligners suit your case, how long each realistic option would take, and the complete cost of each in writing, retainer included.
If you go ahead, your trays are manufactured to that plan and you collect them in batches. Each tray is worn 20 to 22 hours a day. You take them out to eat and to brush, and you put them straight back in. Reviews happen at intervals rather than every few weeks, which is one of the genuine conveniences over braces.
Towards the end, most cases need a small number of refinement trays to finish the detail. Ask any clinic whether refinements are included in the quoted price, because this is where surprise costs usually appear.
What they cost in Bangalore
| Option | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Clear aligners | ₹70,000 to ₹2,50,000 |
| Metal braces | ₹30,000 to ₹50,000 |
| Ceramic braces | ₹45,000 to ₹70,000 |
These are indicative market ranges to help you plan, not a price list. Aligner cost swings the most because it depends on the number of trays and the system used. A short case correcting mild front-teeth crowding sits near the bottom of that range, and a full complex case sits near the top. Our braces and aligners cost guide breaks this down further.
Be careful with very low aligner quotes. The usual catch is that the quote covers only the first set of trays, with refinements and the retainer billed later. Ask for the complete cost, including refinements and retainers, before you commit anywhere.
Aligner brands, honestly
There are international systems, Indian-manufactured systems, and everything in between. The differences show up mostly in cost and in how complex a case the system can handle reliably. Invisalign is the best known name, but it is one brand among several, and the brand on the box matters less than the orthodontist writing the prescription.
At your consultation we will tell you which system we are recommending for your case, why, and what it costs. If a clinic cannot answer that clearly, that tells you something.
The part people skip: retainers
Teeth move back. This is true after aligners and after braces, and it is the single most common reason people end up unhappy years later. Whichever route you take, you will need a retainer afterwards, usually nightly for a long time. It is a small, unglamorous step that protects everything you just paid for.
Straight teeth are easier to keep healthy
Alignment is not only cosmetic. Crowded and overlapping teeth trap plaque in places a brush cannot reach, which is how decay and gum problems start in the spots you cannot see. Patients who straighten their teeth often find cleaning genuinely easier afterwards, and their gum health improves alongside the look.

Your visit, step by step
- 1
Consultation & Smile Assessment
We examine your teeth, bite and gum health, and discuss what you would like to change. Scans and X-rays confirm whether clear aligners can do your case properly, or whether braces would give you a better result.
- 2
Digital Treatment Planning
Your scans are used to map every stage of tooth movement, so you can preview the expected result before you commit to anything. You also get the full cost, in writing, including refinements and retainers.
- 3
Wearing Your Aligners
You receive a series of custom trays, each worn 20 to 22 hours a day and changed as advised. We review progress at regular intervals and adjust the plan if your teeth are not tracking as expected.
- 4
Retention & Aftercare
Once your teeth reach their new positions, retainers hold them there. Teeth drift back without retention, so we guide you on wear time and long-term care to protect the result you paid for.
Frequently asked questions
Are clear aligners as effective as braces?
For mild to moderate crowding, spacing and mild bite problems, yes. For severe crowding, large gaps, badly rotated teeth or significant bite corrections, braces still do the job better and often faster. The honest answer depends on your scan, not on a general rule, which is why the first visit is an assessment rather than a sales pitch.
How much do clear aligners cost in Bangalore?
Clear aligner treatment in Bangalore generally runs from around ₹70,000 for short, simple cases to ₹2,50,000 for complex treatment with a premium brand. Your exact cost depends on how much your teeth need to move and how many trays that takes. We confirm the complete figure in writing before treatment starts, including refinements and the retainer.
How long does aligner treatment take?
Simple cases finish in about 6 to 9 months and average cases in 12 to 18 months. The bigger factor is how far your teeth need to move, not which appliance you choose. Dr. Swaroop gives you a realistic timeline after reviewing your scans.
Do you use Invisalign?
Invisalign is one well known aligner brand among several. We work with quality clear aligner systems chosen to suit the case and the budget, and we will tell you exactly which system we are recommending for you and why, along with what it costs. Ask us at your consultation and you will get a straight answer.
What happens if I forget to wear them?
This is the main risk with aligners. They only work while they are in your mouth, and they need 20 to 22 hours a day. Skipping hours stretches treatment out, and skipping a lot can mean the next tray no longer fits and the case has to be re-scanned. If you know you will forget, braces will get you a better result.
Do I need a retainer afterwards?
Yes, and this is the step people most often skip. Teeth move back towards their old positions after any orthodontic treatment. A retainer, usually worn nightly, is what protects the result. Always ask whether the retainer is included in a quote, here or anywhere else.
