Smile Makeover & Cosmetic Dentistry

Whitening, bonding, veneers, alignment and gum contouring, combined into one plan designed around your face by an MDS Smile Designer.

Dr. Shabnam

Smile design is my own area. I plan every case around your facial proportions, lip line and skin tone rather than a template, and I always start with the most conservative option that will actually get you the result. Sometimes that is whitening and a little bonding, not veneers on every tooth. You will hear that from me honestly, even when it means a smaller treatment plan.

Dr. Shabnam, MDS | Endodontist & Smile Designer

About This Treatment

A smile makeover is not one procedure. It is a planned combination of treatments that together change how your smile looks, sequenced in the right order so each step supports the next. Depending on your case it might include whitening, composite bonding, porcelain veneers, alignment, or gum contouring to balance an uneven smile line.

It suits anyone bothered by chipped, stained, gapped, worn or uneven teeth, anyone with a smile that shows more gum than they would like, and anyone preparing for a wedding, a new role, or simply wanting to stop covering their mouth in photographs.

What cosmetic dentistry actually covers

Cosmetic dentistry is the umbrella term. These are the treatments underneath it and what each one is genuinely for.

  • Teeth whitening lifts general dullness and staining from tea, coffee and tobacco. It changes shade, not shape. See teeth whitening.
  • Composite bonding rebuilds a chipped edge or closes a small gap using tooth-coloured material, usually in a single visit, removing almost no natural tooth.
  • Porcelain veneers are thin shells bonded to the front of the teeth, used when shape, shade and minor alignment all need changing together. See veneers and caps.
  • Crowns cover and protect a tooth that is heavily damaged or has had a root canal, restoring both strength and appearance. See crowns and bridges.
  • Gum contouring reshapes an uneven or low gum line, often the real fix for a smile that looks “gummy” or where teeth appear short.
  • Alignment with clear aligners or braces moves the teeth themselves, which is sometimes the honest answer where veneers would only mask the problem.

Matching the problem to the treatment

What bothers youUsually fixed by
Yellow or dull teethWhitening
A chipped front toothComposite bonding, sometimes a veneer
Small gaps between front teethBonding or veneers, alignment if the gaps are wide
Crooked or overlapping teethAligners or braces
Short teeth or a gummy smileGum contouring, often with veneers
A dark, heavily filled or root canal treated toothCrown, sometimes a veneer
Worn, uneven biting edgesBonding or veneers, depending on the wear

Most people who come in asking for veneers on every tooth do not need them. We would rather tell you that than sell you the bigger plan.

How Dr. Shabnam plans a case

Dr. Shabnam is an MDS Endodontist and Smile Designer, and smile design is her own focus area rather than something delegated. Planning starts with photographs, scans and your facial proportions: lip line, midline, skin tone, the shape of your face when you actually laugh rather than when you pose.

From that she builds a sequence. Whitening comes before bonding and veneers, because those are colour-matched and cannot be lightened later. Gum work comes before final shaping. Alignment, when needed, usually comes first of all. Getting that order wrong is the most common reason makeovers look off, and it is the part patients cannot see from a price list.

You see the plan, the sequence and the full cost before anything irreversible happens.

Real results from our chair

The before and after cases on this page are real patients of the clinic, photographed here. They cover stained front teeth restored to an even shade, a chipped front tooth rebuilt, crooked front teeth corrected, and full smile rebuilds. Results vary from person to person, and every case starts with an examination rather than a promise.

Looking after the result

Cosmetic work lasts as long as the mouth around it stays healthy. Whitening fades gradually and can be topped up. Bonding can stain at the edges over years and is easily polished or replaced. Veneers and crowns fail at the margins when decay creeps in underneath, which is a brushing and checkup issue rather than a materials issue. Keep your six-monthly cleaning and the work you paid for stays looking right.

If you grind your teeth at night, tell us before treatment. Grinding is the fastest way to chip new veneers, and a night guard is far cheaper than redoing them.

Book a smile design consultation

A consultation is a conversation and an examination, not a sales pitch. You will leave knowing what is possible, what it would cost, what can wait, and what you do not need.

The clinic is in Green Glen Layout, Bellandur, below Ratnadeep Super Market, open every day from 10 AM to 9 PM. Message us on WhatsApp with a photo of your smile and we will tell you honestly what the options look like.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between cosmetic dentistry and a smile makeover?

Cosmetic dentistry is the umbrella term for any treatment that improves how teeth look: whitening, bonding, veneers, reshaping, gum contouring. A smile makeover is when several of those are planned together as one sequenced treatment rather than picked off one at a time. Many patients only need a single cosmetic treatment, and we will say so.

Do I need veneers, or will something smaller work?

Often something smaller works. Whitening handles general dullness and staining. Composite bonding repairs chips and closes small gaps in a single visit and removes almost no tooth structure. Veneers are for cases where shape, shade and alignment all need changing together. We recommend the most conservative option that achieves your goal, because tooth structure does not grow back.

Will my new smile look natural or obviously done?

Natural is the whole point of smile design. Shape, shade and proportions are matched to your face, so people notice that you look well rather than that you had work done. If you want a brighter, more uniform look we will show you where that line sits before we start.

Is a smile makeover painful?

Most cosmetic procedures are minimally invasive and done under local anaesthesia where needed, so treatment itself is comfortable. Mild sensitivity for a few days afterwards is normal and settles on its own.

How many visits does it take?

It depends on the mix. Whitening can be one or two visits, bonding often a single visit, veneers a few more, and alignment several months. You get a clear, personalised visit plan at your consultation.

How much does a smile makeover cost?

Every plan is different, so the cost depends entirely on which treatments your case needs and how many teeth are involved. We explain the complete plan and cost upfront, in writing, before any treatment begins. Payment plans are available.
