Dental crown cost in Bangalore

A crown, or cap, is what protects a tooth after a root canal or a big break. The price depends almost entirely on the material, so here are the typical Bangalore ranges for each type, what actually changes the number, and our promise that your exact cost is agreed before we touch the tooth.

Typical Costs

What a dental crown typically costs in Bangalore

Crowns are priced per tooth and the material makes the biggest difference. These bands cover what most Bangalore clinics charge; where your tooth lands depends on the material you choose and where the tooth sits in your mouth.

Metal crown (full metal or metal-based)

The strongest and cheapest option. Silver-coloured, so it suits back molars nobody sees.

₹3,000 to ₹6,000

PFM crown (porcelain fused to metal)

A metal base with a tooth-coloured porcelain layer. Good value; a thin dark line can show at the gum over the years.

₹5,000 to ₹9,000

Zirconia crown (metal-free)

Tooth-coloured all the way through, very strong, no dark gum line. The most common choice today for both front and back teeth.

₹8,000 to ₹15,000

E-max / all-ceramic crown (front teeth)

The most natural-looking, glass-like ceramic for front teeth where appearance matters most. Not for heavy-biting molars.

₹10,000 to ₹18,000

Bridge (per unit)

A bridge replacing one missing tooth is usually 3 units: two crowns on the neighbours plus the false tooth between them.

Crown price x number of units

These are indicative ranges for dental clinics in Bangalore, shared so you can plan. Your exact cost depends on your tooth and your case, and is confirmed at the consultation, in writing, before any treatment begins.

Understanding The Price

Why the price varies from crown to crown

The material

Metal, PFM, zirconia and E-max sit in very different bands. Zirconia and E-max cost more because the block itself is more expensive and the lab work is precision-milled, not hand-cast.

Front tooth or back tooth

A front tooth needs the shade matched exactly and the shape sculpted to your smile, which takes more lab skill. A molar mostly needs strength, so a simpler, cheaper crown does the job well.

The lab and the warranty

A crown from a certified lab with a written warranty costs more than one from an unbranded lab. Ask any clinic which lab makes their crowns and whether the brand comes with a warranty card.

What the tooth needs first

A crown on a healthy root canal treated tooth is one price. If the tooth needs a post and core to build it up, or a root canal first, those are separate steps with their own costs, agreed upfront.

Cost Questions

Money questions, honest answers

Do I really need a crown after a root canal?

For back teeth, almost always. A root canal treated tooth is hollow inside and dries out over time, so without a crown it can crack under chewing pressure, and a cracked root canal tooth usually cannot be saved. For front teeth, which take less biting force, Dr. Shabnam will tell you honestly whether a crown or just a filling is enough.

Which crown is best value: metal, PFM or zirconia?

For a back molar nobody sees, a metal or PFM crown is strong and sensible. For anything visible when you smile, zirconia gives you a natural look with no dark gum line and lasts as long as metal. E-max is worth it only for front teeth where appearance is everything. We explain the trade-offs and let you choose; there is no pressure towards the expensive one.

How long does a crown last?

A well-made crown on a well-cared-for tooth commonly lasts 10 to 15 years, and many go longer. What shortens its life is decay at the edge where crown meets tooth, so brushing that margin and coming for your six-monthly checkup matters more than the material.

Is the crown cost included in the root canal price?

At most clinics, including ours, they are quoted as two separate items so you can see exactly what you are paying for. When Dr. Shabnam quotes a root canal she also quotes the crown options at the same time, so you know the complete cost of finishing the tooth before you start.

Why do some clinics offer crowns for ₹1,500?

Usually it is an unbranded metal crown from a local lab with no warranty, and the fit is often poor, which lets decay in at the edges. A crown that fails takes the tooth with it. Ask for the material, the lab name and the warranty in writing; that is what we give you.

Do you have payment plans for crowns and bridges?

Yes. Hassle-free payment plans are available so a tooth that needs protecting never waits for a payday. Ask at the consultation or on WhatsApp.
